Biographical notes:
Brian Gorst was born in Birmingham in 1969 and studied fine art at Bournville College of Art and then at Cheltenham School of Art. In 1999 he graduated from the Graduate School of Figurative Art of the New York Academy of Art. He has exhibited widely including numerous solo exhibitions, the BP Portrait and the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize Exhibitions.
He has taught painting, drawing and anatomy at colleges in the west of England; including Malvern School of Art until it's untimely closure in the summer of 2021. He has written articles on painting and drawing and is the author of The Complete Oil Painter published in 2003 by Watson Guptill (US) and Batsford (UK).
In 2019 Brian made a music CD called 'Songs From Shakespeare' consisting of 19 songs in various musical styles using words from Shakespeare's plays and poetry. You can hear it at: https://briangorst.bandcamp.com/releases

He also writes and performs poetry. His book is called 'Scenes From Ovid and Other Yarns' (available via email £8 + postage).
